realLiveMoms

with mother’s day approaching tomorrow, moms should check out real live moms powered by windows live. it allows moms to connect with other moms and share ideas, pictures, scrapbooks, and stay in touch with friends and family.

see you at teched

teched

i will be heading out to teched tomorrow afternoon to to chat it up about azure. if you are one of the thousands expected to be there, stop by the windows azure booth and say hi.

if you are not going to be there you can follow all the announcements and chatter on twitter.

just learned of reactee

reactee

i am at riapalooza and just learned of this cool site, reactee, from my buddy anthony. essentially, it allows you to choose up to 3 keywords that you have printed on a t-shirt that people can then txt 41411 and have a sms message sent to them of your choosing. genius. what will your message say?

igive rocks

igive

since i just mentioned the enterprise developer conference, it is also important to mention that you will have an opportunity to make a difference while you are there (or online… see below). i will be lingering around the igive table next to registration next week so make sure you stop by and say “hi”. this is something i am very passionate about (more about that on a separate blog post).

here is information on igive:

What is iGive?
The iGive campaigns are a way for Microsoft to “give back” to the communities that we live in and serve.  It is part of the overall corporate citizenship pillar of key initiatives that we all embrace as part of our work at Microsoft. Every donor receives an iGive shirt.

Fields of Life
Fields of Life is assisting in making a change for the many vulnerable children in Africa  – It could be said that the greatest tragedy is the lack of education. Given an opportunity to go to school, these children develop skills that could enable them to break out of the cycle of poverty and hardship. That’s where Fields of Life with your partnership can help out. Education is one of the many areas where we seek to help these children.

Welcomed support from Microsoft staff over the years  resulted in funding many projects such as a classroom for deaf, an extension to another school to facilitate an extra 200 students and most recently a computer room in northern Uganda where many students are recovering from the aftermath of the ravages of war. In addition to this, many of my colleagues sponsor children to enable them to get an education which will give them a better start in life! A hand up is better than a hand out!!

How can you help ?
Visit our website www.fieldsoflife.com and see where you can assist. You can make a donation (www.fieldsoflife.com/donate.php) and if you are a Microsoft employee this can be matched via the Matching Gifts Program Give. Thanks for your time and thoughts. Please print out your donation acknowledgement in exchange for an iGive limited edition shirt. (As supply lasts).
What makes the iGive shirt so special (why would I want one)?
It’s Microsoft like you have never seen it! The front of shirt has real Swarovski crystal gems forming the special iGive formula for the charity of choice.  Celebrate diversity for yourself or a special female in your life. These shirts are limited edition, so be the first to collect each in the series!
