long tweets bug?

i have heard today that there is a simple way to get around that pesky 140 character limit on twitter. just disable javascript. what? really? can it be that easy?
i am not suggesting this is a good thing only that it can be done (as demonstrated by my friend FilipSzy). not only is it not a good thing, but i think it is a bad thing now that it requires users to click on the … of each tweet to see the full text. ugh.
i am betting that the twitter team is working on fixing this so get your long tweets on while they last.
